What information do you need to create an external CGI render?

To produce an external CGI render, we typically need the latest architect CAD (DWG or PDF), elevations, a material schedule, site plan, roof plan, and any planning or marketing references. Landscaping plans and boundary treatments help us keep the exterior and landscaping levels accurate.

How much does an external CGI render cost?

External CGI pricing is based on the scope of each project, including the number of exterior views, and whether you need one hero render or a full suite of CGIs for a new build development. We quote with a clear scope and revision allowance so you can budget confidently, we can can also recommend the most effective shots if preferred.

What formats do you deliver for external CGI renders?

We deliver high resolution external CGI renders for print and web at a minimum of 4k. If you need higher resolution, specific crops, aspect ratios, or file formats – we’ll be happy to supply those as part of the delivery.

What is the difference between plot specific and non plot specific external CGIs?

A non plot specific external CGI render (also called a generic or house type CGI) shows a house type without tying it to a specific plot, making it ideal for early phase marketing and reuse across phases. A plot specific external CGI render is built to an exact plot and reflects orientation, levels, boundary treatments, parking and garages, landscaping, and neighbouring context where required. Some clients prefer to commission non plot specific CGIs first, then move to plot specific CGIs later across the development once plots and details are finalised.

How long does an external CGI render take?

A single external CGI render is usually delivered in 5 to 10 working days, depending on complexity and how complete the information is. For multiple house types this can take a little longer; if preferred we can schedule a phased rollout so your 3D exterior renders land in line with your marketing deadlines.

How many revisions are included for external CGI renders?

Our external CGI renders include a clear revision allowance – an initial round to lock in the camera viewpoint and composition, followed by two rounds of client amends. Changes requested after sign off can still be turned around quickly subject to our usual T&Cs.

Do you include landscaping, people, and cars in external CGIs?

Yes, where it supports the sales story. Landscaping, planters, cars, and lifestyle dressing are added tastefully so the architecture stays the hero.

Can you match external CGI renders we had done from a previous supplier?

Yes. If you provide the previous CGIs, we can match camera language, lighting, grading, and overall style so your architectural CGI renders stay consistent across the whole development and / or marketing campaign.
